The response to the mission has been expressed through concrete commitments like:
– Primary evangelization:
proclamation of the Gospel to those who have not yet heard, especially the poor and most abandoned. This has been at the heart of the SMA mission.– Justice, peace and integration of creation in Africa:
we strive to answer questions of justice and peace, particularly by engaging with street children, former child soldiers, refugees, war displaced people…– We also keep a focus on human development through education and health:
. Outside Africa, we are engaged in ministry with immigrants, undocumented and campaigning for better sharing of global resources. The SMA Fathers are the pioneers of the Catholic education in Ghana. The SMA continues to use Catholic education as a tool for the evangelisation, holistic formation for young people.– Ecumenical and interreligious dialogue:
SMA seeks to promote dialogue and cooperation with African traditional religions and other beliefs. We seek a better understanding of Islam and evangelical Churches to work together in the service of all.
